THE VCA IS A GATE — it starts CLOSED. The eurorack is silent until something opens the gate. Three ways to play it:
① Sequencer mode: Press ▶ PLAY PATCH first, then set 16-step TARGET = EURORACK and press ▶ PLAY. Each active step opens the gate at that pitch.
② Keyboard mode: Press ▶ PLAY PATCH, then click KEYS PLAY → EURO. Now your keyboard/MIDI directly controls VCO pitch and the VCA gate follows the euro ADSR. The Quantizer snaps your notes to a scale.
③ Drone mode: Press ▶ PLAY PATCH with KB set to SYNTH and no sequencer running — VCA opens automatically and sustains.
Signal path (pre-wired):VCO → VCF → VCA → OUT
The sequencer controls: pitch per step (the note number) + gate (triggers the ADSR to open/close the VCA each step).
ADSR shapes each note:A = rise time (0 = percussive click, slow = swell) · D = fall after peak · S = held level while gate is open · R = tail after gate closes. Short R = staccato. Long R = notes bleed.
Drum sounds: VCO 30–80Hz, SINE wave, A≈0, D=0.05–0.15, S=0, R=0.1. Add NOISE for hats. Bass/lead: SAWTOOTH, medium ADSR, sweep VCF cutoff for movement. Pads: A=0.3–1s, high S, long R, LFO on filter for shimmer.
LFO modulates the VCF continuously at its set rate. Patch it elsewhere (VCO pitch, VCA) via DRAW CABLE.
Quick start: ① PLAY PATCH → ② activate sequencer steps at different pitches → ③ PLAY sequencer → ④ tweak VCF CUTOFF while running.
